Charity event raising funds for the benefit of cardiac care in the Highlands including Raigmore Hospital Cardiology Department, Inverness.
All funds raised locally are spent locally
The event is open to all ages but those under 18 need the consent of their parent/guardian. Under 16's must enter as part of an Adult/Child team
Heartbeat Challenge:
Run or walk 12 miles from Clava to Moy (height gain 731m). Cycle back to Clava (10 miles). Walkers start at 10:00, runners start at 12 noon.
Safety:
The majority of the foot section is on stony land-rover track or heather moorland. Appropriate footwear should be worn and participants should arrive prepared for the possibility of bad weather when the hills can be in cloud. The course will be marked out and will include marshalled water stations however it is recommended that participants carry both water and food during the event.
Rules:
- Entrants under the age of 18 on 4th September 2010, must have consenting signature of parent / guardian
- Entrants under the age of 16 on 4th September 2010 must apply jointly with an adult (minimum age of 18)The adult must take part in the Challenge and remains responsible for the safely of the child concerned for the duration of the Challenge.
- Entrants must be fit enough to complete this challenge
- No dogs are allowed on the route

Participants registered as walkers in the Heartbeat Challenge will not be eligible for the runners’ prizes, see below.
The cycle section is on public roads (not closed) and is suitable for either road bikes or mountain bikes. Helmets must be worn during the cycle section. Bikes require to be dropped off at Moy Hall on Friday 3rd September between 1700 & 2030 or on Saturday 4th September between 0830 & 0930.
Prizes will be awarded to the following competitors in the Heartbeat Challenge:
- First Male Runner,
- First Female Runner.
- Competitor that raises the most sponsorship
- Child that raises the most sponsorship
